Project Overview

Sanmark Solutions developed the Baby Vaccination Logger (BVL), a web-based system designed to optimize the vaccination process for infants in the Galle District. The system aims to facilitate record-keeping, schedule future vaccinations, minimize wastage, and enable detailed reporting. It was crafted to ensure accurate tracking and efficient management of vaccination data.

Key Features of the Solution

Key Features of the Solution

The following includes features in the system:

The BVL system boasts features like comprehensive baby vaccination records, an advanced scheduling module for upcoming vaccinations, user-specific access for healthcare professionals, and robust reporting tools. The platform is tailored to cater to the unique needs of PHMs, MOHs, and supervisory staff, offering different levels of system functionality to streamline vaccine administration. All features are listed below:

  • Keeping records of babies, who are provided vaccinations.
  • Managing a schedule of future vaccinations.
  • Keeping records of vaccinations issued to each baby.
  • Separate user logins for phms and MOHs and district level supervisory staff.
  • Separate system functionality levels for MOHs and supervisory staff.
  • Getting a report of number of vaccines used during a given time period.
  • Separate records for each MOH Office.

Sanmark Solutions PVT LTD built a web-based software system that fulfills the above-listed requirements. This system helped them resolve a lot of administrative and technical problems that were very difficult to address. So, it is very clear if this system applies to the other MOH areas.

Our Approach and Execution

The project execution involved close collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure the BVL system met all functional requirements and complied with medical standards. Challenges such as data security, user accessibility, and system scalability were meticulously addressed, ensuring a seamless integration into the existing healthcare infrastructure.

Technology stack

For the Baby Vaccination Logger system, the technologies used were Laravel and MySQL. Laravel, a robust PHP framework, provided the back-end structure, enabling efficient data handling and application logic. MySQL served as the database management system, ensuring secure and scalable storage of vaccination records and user information. This combination offered a reliable and effective solution for managing complex healthcare data.

Measuring Success and Gleaning Insights

Success for the BVL project was measured through improved vaccination record accuracy, enhanced scheduling efficiency, reduced wastage by 20%, and positive feedback from healthcare staff. The system's impact on streamlining the vaccination process and its adaptability to evolving healthcare needs highlighted its value.

Wastage of vaccine is reduced.
Age appropriate vaccination is high.
Ordering of vaccine can be done accurately.
Each and every vaccination clinic can be monitored very easily.
Data presented to the EPI review is much reliable by this system.
